Amsterdam has different kinds of transport:
Train, bus, metro and tram.

For transportation by train one needs to buy a ticket from the ticket office at the train station or from the big yellow ticket machines which can be found at every train station .

For transportation by bus, tram or metro one needs to buy a “OV” card (Openbaar Vervoer=Public Transport) .  These cards can be bought at stations and certain tabacco stores and can be purchased for a number of hours, or as a card to be used at all times, but on which you have to put credit.  Credit can be put onto the card at eacht metro and/or trainstation.  By entering and by leaving the vehicle, one needs to put the card in front of a "reader" (yellow poles on the platforms) and the money for the trip will be deducted from the card.  For more detailed information click here:

The best way to reach the AMC is to take  metro # 50 or # 54 direction ‘Gein`.  Please get off at metro station Holendrecht.  From there it is a 3 minute walk to the main entrance of the hospital.
